Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. is seeking a part-time Customer Service Representative who will play a vital role in our company.  This position will need a person with a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.

Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. is a family-owned and operated Lehigh Valley motorcoach company. In its 80th year, the company offers daily service to New York City, Newark Airport, and Wall Street from the Lehigh Valley area and Clinton, New Jersey. Our affiliate company, Delaware River Coach Lines, operates local transit service between Easton and Phillipsburg under contract with New Jersey Transit. Trans-Bridge’s Charter Department is available for business groups, schools, and organizations, with custom-designed one-day and overnight trips, sporting events, shows, and special city tours. Trans-Bridge Tours, another affiliate company, offers One-Day, Multi-Day, and Casino Tours, as well as, Air & Cruise Vacations.

The companies are now in the family’s third generation of ownership and management.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general assistance to walk-in customers and manage phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Provide Trans-Bridge Lines New York City, Newark International Airport and JFK International Airport schedules, prices and sell bus tickets to customers.
  • Reconcile cash drawer before and after shift, prepare daily cash out reports with supporting documentation.
  • Field customer questions and issues.
  • Maintain brochure racks and bulletin boards with up-to-date information.
  • Maintain a clean and neat working and waiting area.
  • Open and/or close ticket office as needed.
  • Follow company policies to ensure the safety of customers and co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers including listening, being polite, helpful and courteous.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer issues/concerns.
  • Reliable and responsible.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer Service experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds.

Job Description:
Trans-Bridge Lines, Inc. is seeking a part-time Charter Representative who will play a vital role in the Charter Department.  This position will need a person with strong customer service skills, a creative mindset, and an eye for detail.  The Charter Representative will organize, coordinate, and work with customers to create their perfect charter trip experience.

This position will start out part-time with the intention of going full-time in the near future.  This is a perfect position for someone who is willing to learn, enjoys dealing with people, and finds fulfillment in assisting customers in enjoying life through travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist walk-in customers and manage phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Interact with customers to provide charter sales and quotes and tour reservations.
  • Create charter trip itineraries, pay vendors and track trip activities.
  • Constant communication with customers through the entire trip process.
  • Organize and compile directions and other pertinent paperwork for motorcoach drivers on each trip.
  • Receive, record, and prepare daily check deposits to be processed by the accounting department.
  • Prepare and send invoicing to customers.
  • Log bus miles and fuel purchases.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers and co-workers including listening, being polite, helpful and courteous.
  • Must be reliable and responsible.
  • Service-oriented and able to resolve customer issues/concerns.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook), have accurate data entry skills and the ability to learn new software.
  • Knowledge of Coach Manager or other related booking systems a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Motorcoach/Charter industry experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Repeating motion that may include wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
