Senior Days - Glorious spring gardens, fabulous fall color and fun activities await older adults at Longwood Gardens on Senior Day. An afternoon performance, cooking demonstrations, history lectures and guided tours are some of the day's special events. An open-air tram runs throughout the day.

PHILADELPHIA ZOO & ADVENTURE AQUARIUM

The Philadelphia Zoo's 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. LONGWOOD GARDENS
at Christmas

December 11 (Sat)

At Christmas time thousands of poinsettias burst into bloom accented with tulips, narcissi, cyclamens, and many other brilliant flowers that flourish inside the Conservatory's crystal palace. Lavish decorations decorate the 20 garden rooms with handcrafted botanical porcelain ornaments, swags of exotic plants and living wreaths. Longwood works its garden magic outdoors, too, conjuring up topiary reindeer and fountains dancing to holiday music. After dark, huge starry snowflakes seem to fall from the skies, and 400,000 tiny lights glow in the trees. Holiday concerts are scheduled every afternoon and evening. Outdoors, 400,000 decorative lights glitter in the trees at night, and, weather permitting; colorful fountain displays set to music enchant visitors at the Open Air Theatre.
