LONGWOOD GARDENS
at Christmas

December 11
(Sat)

gardens At Christmas time thousands of poinsettias burst into bloom accented with tulips, narcissi, cyclamens, and many other brilliant flowers that flourish inside the Conservatory's crystal palace. Lavish decorations decorate the 20 garden rooms with handcrafted botanical porcelain ornaments, swags of exotic plants and living wreaths. Longwood works its garden magic outdoors, too, conjuring up topiary reindeer and fountains dancing to holiday music. After dark, huge starry snowflakes seem to fall from the skies, and 400,000 tiny lights glow in the trees. Holiday concerts are scheduled every afternoon and evening. Outdoors, 400,000 decorative lights glitter in the trees at night, and, weather permitting; colorful fountain displays set to music enchant visitors at the Open Air Theatre.
A Yuletide Meal is included in the Terracotta Room at the Terrace Restaurant.
